I’m sitting on the floor in the flat that has been our home for the last couple of days.  Today signals our last day in the Czech Republic and we have worked steadily for the last two hours to complete all the tasks required before we leave at 6:30am tomorrow morning.  Farewells have been said.  The luggage has been packed.  Now all that remains is to sleep.

Today we attended the Christmas worship service in Český Těšín then we went back to our flat, then again to church to prepare for our “American Christmas” celebration.  The final event was a meal (chili) with games and a presentation about Christmas in America. 37 people came to celebrate with us and share in fellowship.  Like all good church events in Chandler, no one wants to leave.  Unfortunately, we had to prepare for our departure and we said our final farewells around 10:30pm (the event started at 5:00).

As I look back on the trip so far, I marvel at the love that God has built between two sets of people who live so far away from one another.  Of course, it should not surprise me – Jesus demonstrated that God’s love stretches from heaven to earth, and even overcomes the grave.

If all goes well, I should be back in Arizona tomorrow.  I know from experience, however, that the mission never ends,  just the place where we get to serve.

Thank you for joining along with us.  I will share my final reflections upon our return. God bless you all, and Merry Christmas!
