Our Story

Family Bible Church began in the spring of 2004 in the front room of Tim and Jill Klontz’s home. Tim and Jill had both been leading Bible studies around their dining table for many years. She had been teaching the women from the neighborhood and he taught the men the next night. They had also been teaching a young married Sunday school class and Jill headed up a large women’s ministry at a previous church. Since Tim had taken a break from preaching full time while building churches, he was enjoying his new role just building churches as a contractor. But the call of God to preach was heavy on his heart, like the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 10:14 “And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”

The evening Bible study groups agreed and they committed, one family after another, to serve God with Tim and Jill. Family Bible Church officially opened the doors at Hancock Elementary School on August 1, 2004. Six years later on August 1, 2010 FBC moved into a new building in the Dobson Towne Place. All the start up costs, building fund and continuing expenses came from within this new church body; just like it says in Ephesians chapter four, “The whole body builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

As the church body grew, so did the building projects. In November 2015 FBC purchased land for a permanent church building, in 2016 building permits were approved and the ground breaking began, and on June 4, 2017 the first service was held in the McQueen and Ocotillo campus with the official Grand Opening on July 31, 2017.
