(This is the second post for today)
Today ends our time at the home of our dear friends, Marcel and Silvie. After I make this post, I will be closing my laptop, and closing a chapter in our mission trip this summer. Shortly, we will be heading to the train station and saying “farewell” to town of Český Těšín for a few weeks. Ahead lies the adventure of a brief time in the Jeseník mountains, camp training in Prague, and camp at Malenovice.
Perhaps the take-away for today is that time is short. Two weeks might seem like a long time, but it has gone quickly. Our time here has been a time of recovery, from the rigors of travel and the stress of a kidney stone attack, but it has been a time of deliberate and productive ministry as well.
In our short time here, we have hosted individuals in our home on eight different occasions and met with others in their homes on another two instances. This totals to over 22 different people, 5 sheet cakes and dozens of American cookies. We have encouraged (and been encouraged in return), discussed ministry, and prayed together. Each meeting has been amazing.
But these meetings didn’t just happen. It took a willingness to break out of the “ordinary” routine. We needed to resist the momentum to just focus on ourselves. And as a result, Jesus transformed the “Ordinary Life” into “Extraordinary.” Now, with our bags packed, we are satisfied knowing that we have served well and loved well, and we have been blessed in return.
Thank you for following along on our journey. We are thankful to share our lives and ministry with you. I look forward to hearing how Jesus has made your Ordinary Life, extraordinary too.
