Family Bible Church began in the spring of 2004 in the front room of Tim and Jill Klontz’s home. For years, Tim and Jill had been leading Bible studies around their dining table—Jill teaching the women in the neighborhood, and Tim leading the men. They also served together in a young married Sunday school class, while Jill headed up a thriving women’s ministry.
Though Tim had stepped away from full-time preaching to focus on building churches as a contractor, God’s call to preach weighed heavily on his heart.
"The whole body builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."
Ephesians 4:16
The evening Bible study groups shared this vision, and one family after another committed to serving God alongside Tim and Jill. On August 1, 2004, Family Bible Church officially opened its doors at Hancock Elementary School.
Six years later, on August 1, 2010, FBC moved into a rented space at Dobson Towne Place. All the start-up costs, building funds, and ongoing expenses were generously provided by the church body, demonstrating Ephesians 4:16.
As the church body grew, so did the need for a permanent space. In November 2015, land was purchased for a new church building. By 2016, building permits were approved, and construction began. On June 4, 2017, Family Bible Church held its first service at the McQueen and Ocotillo campus, followed by the official Grand Opening on July 31, 2017.
We’re so grateful for what God has done in and through Family Bible Church over the years.
If you’d like to learn more or become a part of our story, we’d love to have you join us this Sunday!
