“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.“ John 10:10 (New International Version)
The theme for this year’s camp is “Real Life”. It will focus on how real life – authentic, purposeful, and eternal life can be found in Jesus alone. I have been thinking and praying a lot about this topic. Jesus came to give us life in the full that starts now and lasts forever. As we follow Him, we get to experience this life of fellowship with Him and with other believers.
There is another side of life that we also find ourselves focusing on more consciously right now: ordinary life. The mundane, day-to-day stuff that we all do pretty much without thinking when we are in our normal environment: meal planning, buying groceries, maintaining a home, and countless other details of everyday life. However, when you add a different country, language and culture to the mix, all these mundane tasks become adventures in and of themselves.
Over the next few days, I will be posting about some of our experiences and adventures doing everyday life here as we live “Real Life” for Jesus.
Thanks for joining us on this adventure. I hope these posts help fill in some of the gaps of what we are up to as we are serving in the Czech Republic this summer.
Prayer Requests:
- Health for the Sandys in the Czech Republic, and the rest of the team as they prepare for travel to the Czech Republic
- That Doug has no more painful flare ups and that he is able to successfully pass his kidney stone
- Success for the evangelical camp in Ukraine this week
- Remaining details for Czech English camp as we work together with the Czech team for final details
- That Christ would be glorified in and through the partnership between Family Bible Church and Církve bratrské v Českém Těšíně (the Czech church) this summer.
