Today is the day camp truly begins. Around three o’clock this afternoon, students will start arriving. We’ll be checking them in, getting them settled into their rooms, and navigating the joyful chaos that always comes with welcoming new campers. Before that, though, we have plenty of preparation to finish.

As I’ve been moving through the morning, I’ve found myself reflecting on how deeply God has blessed us with an incredible leadership team — Czech and American alike. Most of the people serving here have been following Jesus since their youth, and they continue to walk faithfully, staying connected, staying grounded, and doing whatever it takes to serve well.

The American team has come a long way, still fighting off jet lag, yet already showing signs of spiritual readiness. I woke early and saw Quincy walking the grounds, taking in the quiet. Moments later, I spoke with Jacob, who had already finished his morning devotions, exercised, and spent time meditating on God’s Word. These things are real blessings for someone leading a team — I don’t have to worry about their spiritual health. I get to encourage them and watch them step into the roles God has gifted them for.

And of course, the Czech team is just as remarkable — actually greater in number — and equally devoted. 

We’ve prayed for this day. We’ve prepared for this day. And now we look to Jesus to do what only He can do: to change hearts, to change lives, to draw people to Himself for eternity’s sake.

That’s my prayer this morning — that we would remain faithful, and that God would bring campers whose hearts are ready to be transformed.
