We’re beginning to settle into a stable rhythm here at camp. Today started with a morning devotion led by the Czech worship band, followed by a message from one of our longtime translators. He spoke about trusting God to guide your life even when you don’t know what’s coming next — a fitting reminder for a week that requires constant flexibility.

From there the day unfolded in its familiar pattern: breakfast, sports, English classes, lunch, workshops, dinner, the evening program, and finally tonight’s special activity — the disco. As I write this, I can hear the thump of the bass and the occasional burst of singing echoing across the grounds. I’m running on very little sleep, so I’ll keep this short.

Two highlights stand out for me.

The first was the cheerleading workshop led by Sophia Varnum, one of our American team members. Nearly all the female campers joined in — and a few of the guys too. With a rematch soccer tournament coming up against the camp down the hill, our cheer section is going to be unstoppable, even if our team doesn’t win on the field.

The second highlight was Annika’s arrival around lunchtime. We’re grateful to have the final member of our team here at last. Please pray for a quick recovery from jet lag for her and a productive day tomorrow for all of us.

Tomorrow morning Jamie will present the devotion, and Aidan will bring the evening message.
